We take the words of Jesus very seriously: “My house shall be called a house of prayer”. Prayer is thus a fundamental element of our church. During the week we have a number of prayer groups and prayer initiatives. We would like to present some of them here.

 

On the last Sunday in the month we hold a special prayer service. Here issues that concern the church at this particular time are prayed through. In addition to this we pray about current events in our country or region.

 

There is a special blessing if we have talked to God before starting any work. David wrote in Psalm 5:2 : “In the morning you will hear my voice!” For this reason a number of our groups meet in the morning. Everyone who would like to pray is warmly welcomed to join us here.

Wednesdays: with the Schwing family, Krähenwinkel 5, Schnaittach,             6:30 - 7:30 h.
Fridays: IGN centre, Bernhardstr. 12, Nuremberg, 7:30 - 9:00 h, with breakfast following.
Sundays: IGN centre, Bernhardstr. 12, Nuremberg, 8:30 - 9:15 h

 

We have a special heart for the next generation. So many young people, who as children have grown up in Christian churches, leave their spiritual home when they are older and often lose their faith in God. For many years in our church we have been praying particularly for young people. Today we see the fruit of this prayer: almost all the teenagers join our youth group! The youth group is one of the branches of our church life that is growing the most strongly.

Love for the Jewish people worldwide and the land of Israel should be ingrained in every Christian church. Christianity was born out of Judaism and is linked to it intrinsically. Jesus himself said: “Salvation comes from the Jews!” In addition to this, as a church in Nuremberg – the town which was once the “city of the Nazi party rallies” – we feel a special responsibility to send blessing to the Jewish people through prayer from this location. All who share this vision are warmly welcomed to join us in prayer.

Since 15.09.2000 a Perazim prayer team has prayed every day for an hour in our church premises. The Hebrew word “Perazim” means “breakthroughs”. We believe that God can give not just one but many breakthroughs. He is the “Lord of the breakthroughs”!
